Our Story

Born in New Jersey.
Built for every neighborhood.

Dän Bakery & Café started with one simple belief: that great food — real food, made by hand — should feel like it came from your own kitchen. What began as a single café in Morristown is now growing into a network of neighborhood bakeries, each one carrying the same warmth, craft, and care that started it all.

Dän Bakery origin

A kitchen, a dream, and a lot of dough.

Dän opened its doors on South Street in Morristown with a menu rooted in European baking traditions and global flavor. Every croissant laminated by hand. Every cake assembled in-house. Every morning coffee pulled fresh.

The idea was never to be the biggest bakery in town — just the one people couldn't stop coming back to. And it worked. Within months, Morristown had made Dän its own.

Dän craft and baking

Made fresh. Every day. No exceptions.

Nothing at Dän is pre-made, frozen, or shipped in. Every item on the menu is baked that morning — from the focaccia to the tiramisu to the Napoleon. We source thoughtfully, waste as little as possible, and adjust the menu with the seasons.

It takes longer. It costs more. It's worth it.

What we stand for

Made with care

Every item is made by hand, in-house, every morning. No shortcuts. No exceptions.

Real ingredients

We use honest, thoughtfully sourced ingredients — nothing artificial, nothing hidden.

Fresh daily

Our menu changes with what's seasonal and what's perfect that day — not what ships easiest.

Community first

We exist to be part of the neighborhood. A place to linger, connect, and feel at home.

One bakery.
Three neighborhoods
(and counting).

Morristown was the beginning. Now Dän is bringing the same handmade quality to New York City and Hoboken — two communities that deserve a bakery they can genuinely call their own. Same standards. Same warmth. New neighborhoods.
